Marathon Relay : Race Information
The marathon relay provides opportunities for runners of all abilities. Participants vary from the fleet-footed racing clubs to groups of friends who just want to run for a good cause.
The relay follows the marathon course. There are 6 legs to the marathon relay: 4 miles, 5 miles, 3 miles, 5 miles, 3 miles and 6.2 miles . Relay exchanges occur at mile markers: 4, 9, 12, 17, and 20. A relay team consists of 2 to 6 people who run all of the legs in order. Relay exchanges are made with a hand slap. The relay team member who runs the last leg is the only runner to wear a timing chip to capture the finishing time. The start time for relay teams is the "gun time". To be eligible for the course record, a team must consist of 6 people.
Visit the course information page to learn more about the course.
Chip timing will again be provided by AllSportCentral with the ChampionChip® system for fast and accurate race results.
