Marathon : Awards & Records

All marathon entrants receive a long-sleeved quarter zip shirt. A custom medal is awarded to all marathon finishers.

Open Awards

Prize money is awarded to the first three male and first three female marathon finishers.  Open and masters awards are based on gun time.  Age group awards are based on chip time.  Open prize money doubles if the finishing time is a Quality time (see below):
Place Award Quality Bonus
1st Place $150 $150
2nd Place $100 $100
3rd Place $50 $50
Masters Awards
$100 is awarded to the first male and first female masters marathon finishers. Masters winners who place in the top three in the open division receive the larger of the two monetary awards. No double dipping!

Quality Time Bonuses
Using the 1994 WAVA Age-Graded Tables, the Brookings Marathon has established a Quality bonus to recognize the top three finishers should they perform near the National Class level or better. Any of the top three finishers who complete the marathon at or better than the following times receive the bonus:

Runners receiving open and masters awards are not included in the age group awards.

All age group awards must be claimed on race day.  Awards will not be mailed.
